New Etqan International Course Supports Helping Staff Across Hospital Operations

Etqan International has introduced a language course tailored to hospital helping staff — including ward assistants, orderlies, cleaning and sanitation teams, and other support roles that keep hospital operations running smoothly.

While often working behind the scenes, helping staff regularly interact with patients, visitors, and clinical teams. The course focuses on foundational workplace communication: understanding instructions, responding to basic patient requests, following safety protocols, and communicating clearly during handovers between departments.

“Every member of a hospital team contributes to the patient experience, even those not directly involved in clinical care,” an Etqan International program coordinator explained. “This course gives helping staff the confidence to communicate clearly in their day-to-day responsibilities.”

The program is designed with flexibility in mind, offering short sessions that fit around variable shift patterns, along with visual and scenario-based learning aids suited to staff with limited prior exposure to formal language instruction.
